sugar - 3 c
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/4 tsp
soda - 2 tsp
buttermilk - 8 Tbsp
baking powder - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
all-purpose flour
mashed bananas - 2 c
pecans, chopped - 2 c

How to make banana nut cake:

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs to mixture. Mix soda and flour. Mash bananas and add alternately with flour to batter. Add nuts and vanilla.

Pour into tube pan and bake at 325° for about an hour or until cake springs back when pressed with fingers.
