Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- sour milk - 3/4 c
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1 c
- bananas, mashed about 2 - 1 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Combine sugar, oil, bananas, vanilla and sour milk. Sift together flour, bananas, vanilla and sour milk. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to banana mixture. Fold in, do not beat with a mixer. Add nuts. Bake in moderate oven (350°) until springs back or toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean, in oblong dish, or make in loaf pans.Optional: While hot, make glaze of powdered sugar, vanilla and butter. Add hot water, as needed, to make spreadable icing. Add nuts, if wish. Pour over warm cake.
