Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1/3 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- sugar - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cream together the shortening and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Stir dry ingredients into shortening and sugar. Mix well. Add mashed bananas and blend well. Add nuts, stirring gently. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until brown (do not overbake). Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Makes 1 loaf.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Yeast breads.
