Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- mashed bananas
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- buttermilk or 1/2 c - 1/2 c
- walnuts optional - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make banana bread:
Cream sugar and butter until light. Add mashed bananas and eggs. Stir together the flour, soda and salt, then add to banana mixture. Blend thoroughly. Stir in the buttermilk, walnuts and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. (Makes 1 large loaf or 2 medium.) Bake at 325° for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
