Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1/3 c
- raisins or chopped dates - 1/2 c
- large baking apples - 6 item
How to make baked stuffed apples:
Core apples, then peel 1/2 way down from the top. Place in a baking dish and fill centers with mixture of nuts, raisins or dates. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Pour over apples, then bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Baste apples with the syrup 3 or 4 times during baking.
