Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/4 c
- water
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda
- confectioners sugar
- raisins - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- Pet milk - 3 Tbsp
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1 c
How to make spice cake:
Frosting:6 Tbsp. butter1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar3 Tbsp. Pet milk vanilla1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans Wash raisins; cover with water. Bring to boil; cook 5 minutes. This should simmer to 1 cup. Mix sugar and butter. Add raisin mixture in which soda is dissolved. Cool slightly. Mix sifted flour with cinnamon, allspice, cloves, salt and nutmeg.Frosting: Carefully brown butter in pan. Add confectioners sugar and Pet milk. Stir hard. Add vanilla and walnuts or pecans. Bake in square pan at 350° for 40 minutes.
