Ingredients/Components

  • elbow macaroni - 8 oz
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • small onion, minced - 1 item
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • chunks of ham - 1 item
  • dry mustard - 1/8 tsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 tsp
  • milk more or less if necessary
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • sharp Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb

How to make baked macaroni and cheese with ham:

Cook macaroni according to package. Melt margarine in saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook 1 minute. Stir in flour. Remove from heat and stir in dry mustard, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Slowly stir in milk. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and it comes to a boil. Add cheese and stir over low heat until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth. Combine sauce and macaroni. Add ham chunks.

Bake at 400° for 30 minutes. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over casserole about 5 to 10 minutes before serving for a crusty top.
