Ingredients/Components
- water - 2 qt
- country ham - 1 item
- molasses optional - 1 c
How to make baked country ham:
Soak ham for 24 hours in cold water. Take out of water and place in roaster pan. Mix 2 quarts of water and 1 cup of molasses together and pour over ham. Place 2 layers of heavy duty aluminum foil over ham and place lid on roaster. Preheat oven to 500°. Put ham in oven and time for 30 minutes. Turn oven off after 30 minutes and wait 3 hours and turn oven back on and let it reach 500° again and time for 30 minutes. Then turn oven off and leave ham in overnight, 2:00 PM is a good time to start this recipe. Do not open oven after you start!Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Main dish.
