Baked cheese grits
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- 4 oz - 1 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 3 item
- fresh parsley sprigs - 1 item
- uncooked regular grits - 1 c
- fresh mushroom slices - 1 item
How to make baked cheese grits:
Bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in grits. Cook grits about 30 minutes until done. Remove from heat and add next 3 ingredients. Stir until cheese and butter melt. Gradually stir about 1/4 of the hot grits into eggs. Add to remaining grits, stirring well. Pour grits into lightly greased 9-inch quiche dish. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Garnish with mushrooms and parsley. Yields 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Main dish, Casseroles.
