Applesauce cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• baking soda
• shortening - 1/2 c
• applesauce

How to make applesauce cake:

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add combined applesauce, soda and vanilla. Do not be concerned if mixture separates. It will blend as ingredients are added. Add sifted flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and turn into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan. Bake 45 minutes in 350° oven.
