Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 2/3 3/4
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 6 Tbsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- finely cut up apples - 3 c
How to make apple roll:
Syrup:1 1/2 c. sugar2 c. water1 stick oleo Sift dry ingredients together; cut shortening into mixture until fine. Stir in milk to make soft dough. Knead lightly; roll 1/3-inch thick into an oblong sheet. Spread with apples. Dot with butter and cinnamon. Roll into oblong roll as a jelly roll; place in greased 13 x 9 pan and lightly brown at 450° (about 15 minutes). Then, reduce heat to 350° and pour boiling syrup over roll and cook approximately 30 minutes longer.Recipe categories: Low protein, Fruit, Apple.
