Apple roll
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- self-rising flour
- white sugar
- apples, chopped
- enough milk to moisten flour until it will be stiff - 1 item
- Step 1:1 stick butter
How to make apple roll:
Step 1:1 stick butter1 1/4 c. white sugar2 c. water1/2 tsp. vanilla Step 2:3 1/2 c. apples, chopped1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/2 c. brown sugar Pastry: Combine pastry ingredients and chill.Step 1: Heat oven to 350°. In 9 x 9-inch pan, add butter, water, white sugar and vanilla. Let this mixture get hot and stir occasionally.
Step 2: Roll pastry into a large circle. Sprinkle with mixture of apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll this up as you would a jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices and drop into hot mixture. Cool real slow until golden brown or about 1 hour. Serve warm or with ice cream.
