Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 1
- cinnamon - 1/2 1
- milk - 1/4 c
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- Crisco - 1 c
- dash of nutmeg and salt - 1 item
How to make apple pie:
Filling:6 to 8 tart apples (6 c.)3/4 to 1 c. sugar2 Tbsp. flour1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon dash of nutmeg and salt2 Tbsp. butter Crust: Mix flour and Crisco with 2 knives. Mix milk and vinegar, then mix with flour and Crisco. Divide into 2 balls and roll into crusts.Filling: If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices and dash of salt. Mix with apples.
Fill crust; dot with butter. Put on top crust; seal. Put in slits. Sprinkle slightly with sugar. Bake at 400° for 50 minutes or until done.
