  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • brown sugar
  • evaporated milk - 1/4 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil
  • peeled, chopped apples - 3 c

How to make apple dapple cake:

Topping:1 c. brown sugar1 stick margarine1/4 c. evaporated milk Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 2 standard loaf pans. Combine sugar, eggs and oil. Beat well. Add vanilla.

Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Add to mixture. Add apples and pecans. Mix thoroughly. Pour into loaf pans and bake 1 hour. Make topping as cake gets done.

Melt margarine and add evaporated milk. Bring to a boil. Add brown sugar and boil 2 1/2 minutes. Pour over hot cake while topping is hot. Cool completely in pans before removing. Freezes well.
