  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 3 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • evaporated milk - 1/4 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • liquid oil
  • peeled, chopped apples - 3 c

How to make fresh apple cake:

Blend first 2 ingredients well. Beat eggs slightly and add to mixture. Add baking soda, salt and flour. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Fold in apples and nuts. Grease and flour large tube or Bundt pan. Bake at 250° for 1 1/2 hours. Cool and invert. Add last 4 ingredients. Cook in saucepan to a full boil. Beat and cool. Spread on apple cake.
