How to make red velvet pound cake:

Cream sugar and Crisco until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each one. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together. Add flour and milk alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Add coloring with milk. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
