Apple cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- butter size of egg - 1 item
- yellow vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- large apples, peeled and chopped - 5 item
How to make apple cobbler:
In a 7 x 11-inch pan, fill less than 1/4 full of boiling water and add butter. Add sugar, cinnamon and vinegar. Set aside.In large bowl, mix baking powder, salt, flour, shortening and milk to make dough. Roll out dough and spread apples over it, leaving 1/2-inch around sides. Roll like a jelly roll and cut into about 2/3-inch slices. Drop into sugar/water mixture. Bake at 400° for about 1 hour.
