Apple dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water
- shortening - 4 Tbsp
- pared and cored apples - 6 item
- Mix in shortening and milk
How to make apple dumplings:
Sift dry ingredients together. Mix in shortening and milk. Roll out as pie crust. Cut into 6 squares. Place an apple in center of each square. Divide sugar evenly and fill center of each apple with sugar and cinnamon. Bring dough up around apple; seal well and place in 2-inch deep baking dish.Sauce:1/2 c. butter, melted1/2 c. sugar1 1/2 c. boiling water Melt butter in pan. Add sugar and boiling water. Pour sauce over each apple. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until apples are tender.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
