Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • cold water - 3 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • Crisco - 1 c

How to make flaky pie crust:

Blend flour, shortening and salt. Cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas. Beat egg; mix with water and vinegar. Add to flour mixture and toss lightly with fork. Roll out onto floured board or wax paper. Makes 3 single crusts.

Note: Crust can be frozen or bake at 350° until golden brown.
