Ingredients/Components
- finely diced apples - 2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- flour - 1 c
- cinnamon
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- nuts - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Add egg and beat well
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 1 c
- butter - 1/4 lb
- flour enough to thicken - 1 item
How to make apple cake:
Mix apples and sugar together; let stand until sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Add egg and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir into apples. Add nuts and vanilla. Pour into 1 (8 x 8-inch) pan. Bake at 375° for 40 to 45 minutes or until done.Apple Cake Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. granulated sugar1 c. water1/4 lb. butter1 tsp. vanilla flour (enough to thicken) Cook sugars, flour and water until clear.
