Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/4 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- dry yeast - 1/4 oz
How to make yeast rolls:
Scald milk. Add shortening, sugar and salt. Let cool. Dissolve yeast in warm water.Blend 1 cup flour into milk mixture. Add yeast, water mixture and egg to milk mixture and beat well. Add remaining flour. Knead on a floured board until smooth, about 5 minutes. Place in greased 3-quart bowl. Cover with a dry towel and let rise until doubled in size.
Punch dough down and shape into 15 balls. Place in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush tops with butter.
