Wilted lettuce salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- red wine vinegar - 4 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- chopped green onion - 1/2 c
- slices bacon - 4 item
- leaf lettuce, torn in bite size pieces - 1 qt
How to make wilted lettuce salad:
Fry bacon until crisp; drain. Crumble and reserve about 2 tablespoons dripping. Warm a salad bowl and place the lettuce, onion and bacon in the bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Toss well. Add vinegar and sugar to the bacon drippings in frying pan. Bring to a boil and while hot, pour over the lettuce and toss well. Serve immediately.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low sodium, Salads.
