Ingredients/Components
- water - 8 oz
- cider vinegar - 4 oz
- white sugar - 1 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- slices bacon - 6 item
- head iceberg lettuce - 1/2 item
- scallions, sliced - 4 item
How to make wilted lettuce:
Cook bacon until crisp; remove from pan. Drain, cool, crumble and reserve. Mix vinegar, water and sugar. Add to bacon fat in pan; simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Pour over chopped lettuce in heatproof bowl; toss. Add bacon bits and sliced scallions. Serve warm. Serves 4.Recipe categories: American, Salads, Vegetables.
