Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 4 tsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- cocoa - 1 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- hot water - 1 c
- sour milk - 1 c
- Mix dry ingredients; set aside
How to make whoopie pies:
Mix and dissolve water and soda; set aside. Mix dry ingredients; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour mixture and milk alternately. Add soda water. Batter may be thin. Grease cookie sheet, drop by teaspoon. Bake at 350° for about 8 minutes. Test by touch. Cool.Cream Filling:2 egg whites1/4 c. milk4 tsp. vanilla2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. flour1 1/2 c. shortening2 1/2 c. powdered sugar Cream egg white; add vanilla and milk and flour. Add 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat low then high on mixer. Add shortening. Slowly add 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar and beat again. Put between cooled cookies.
