Waikiki meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- bread crumbs - 2/3 c
- minced onion - 1/3 c
- beef
- large can pineapple chunks, drained save syrup - 1 item
How to make waikiki meatballs:
Mix beef, onions, bread crumbs, egg, salt, ginger and milk. Shape into meatballs.Melt shortening in large skillet. Brown and cook meatballs; remove meatballs and pour fat from skillet. In bowl, mix cornstarch and brown sugar. Stir in pineapple syrup. Mix vinegar and soy sauce in. Pour into pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Add meatballs and pineapple and heat.
