  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • cold water - 2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • salad oil - 2/3 c

How to make wacky cake:

Frosting:5 Tbsp. milk1 c. milk1 c. sugar1 c. shortening Combine ingredients for cake and bake in ungreased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Frosting: Cook milk and flour on medium heat until very thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add 1 spoonful of cooled mixture at a time to creamed mixture. Beat hard. The more you beat the fluffier the frosting. Add vanilla. Spread over cooled cake.
