  • shortening - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • flour - 3 c
  • buttermilk with 1 tsp - 1 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make wacky cake:

Combine shortening, brown sugar and flour with pastry blender and remove scant cup. Blend together buttermilk mixture, egg and vanilla. Sprinkle cup of crumbs over cake. Dot with butter and cinnamon. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
