  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 2/3 c
  • water - 1 c
  • coconut - 1/2 c
  • oil - 6 Tbsp
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • cream - 1/4 c
  • Make 3 holes in flour mixture

How to make wacky cake:

Mix together in an ungreased 8 x 8-inch pan the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Make 3 holes in flour mixture. In hole #1 put vinegar, in hole #2 put vanilla and in hole #3 put oil. Pour water over all and stir with a fork until all the lumps are gone. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.Icing:1/3 c. soft butter1/4 c. cream1/2 c. coconut2/3 c. brown sugar1/2 c. nuts Mix together butter, brown sugar and cream. Melt on stove. Add nuts and coconut. Spread on cooled cake. Put under broiler about 3 minutes.
