Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans
- pkg - 14 oz
- butter - 2 tsp
- chocolate chips - 6 oz
- whipped topping - 1 item
- sweetened condensed milk - 7 oz
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make turtle cake:
Prepare cake mix using package directions. Pour 1/2 the batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.Combine butter, caramels and condensed milk in saucepan. Heat until melted, mixing well; cool slightly. Pour over baked cake layer. Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips. Spread remaining cake batter over top. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Serve with whipped topping.
