Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/4 c
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
How to make toffee bars:
Cream first 5 ingredients together carefully. Stir in flour. Pat mixture, which may be crumbly, into a greased large cookie pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. (Dough will appear soft, but will be done.) While hot, sprinkle chocolate chips on top and spread over as they melt. Sprinkle with chopped nuts (if desired).
