- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c

How to make toffee bars:
Heat oven to 350°. Mix brown sugar, butter, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Press into greased oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch.Bake until light brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven; immediately place separated pieces of candy on crust. Let stand until soft; spread evenly. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 1/2-inch while warm. Makes 32 cookies.
