How to make toasted pecan cake:
Toast pecans in 2 tablespoons butter in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Stir. Cream butter; add sugar. Blend in eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Blend well. Add vanilla and 2/3 cup pecans. Turn into 2 (9-inch) round cake pans, well-greased and floured on bottom. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost with Pecan Frosting.Frosting:2 Tbsp. butter2 c. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla2 to 3 Tbsp. cream Cream butter. Add sugar, vanilla and cream. Cream until spreading consistency.
