Toasted butter pecan cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- cream - 4 6
- pecans - 2/3 c
- sifted enriched flour - 3 c
- pecans, chopped
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt
How to make toasted butter pecan cake:
Toast pecans in 1/4 cup butter for 20 to 25 minutes at 350°. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Cream 1 cup of butter. Gradually add sugar, creaming well. Blend in eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla and pecans. Pour into three layer cake pans. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.Frosting:1/4 c. butter1 lb. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla4 to 6 Tbsp. cream2/3 c. pecans Cream butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. Add cream. Add pecans.
