Texas caviar
Ingredients/Components
- diced pimiento - 2 oz
- dried black-eyed peas - 1 lb
- green onions, chopped - 1 c
- Italian salad dressing - 2 c
- diced bell pepper - 2 c
- jalapeno peppers, diced - 1/4 1/2
- salt and Tabasco sauce to taste - 1 item
- regular onions, chopped
- garlic, diced or garlic salt to taste optional - 1 Tbsp
How to make texas caviar:
Soak peas overnight. Drain and/or add more water and simmer 40 minutes or until tender. Drain well. Mix with remaining ingredients. Serve hot or cold.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Salads, Tex Mex.
