  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • strong coffee - 1 c

How to make texas brownies:

Frosting:1/2 c. margarine1/4 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. cocoa3 1/2 c. powdered sugar In saucepan, combine butter, shortening, coffee and cocoa; stir and beat until boiling. Pour mixture in bowl with other ingredients. Mix well. Pour into a well buttered jelly roll pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. While brownies bake, prepare frosting.

Frosting: In saucepan, mix cocoa, milk and butter; heat until boiling. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix until frosting is smooth. Pour over warm brownies.
