  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chili powder - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
  • can cream-style corn - 1 lb
  • can red kidney beans, drained - 1 lb
  • wide noodles, cooked and drained - 4 oz
  • can tamales, cut in 1-inch chunks - 1 oz

How to make tamale casserole:

Brown ground beef in a large skillet. When meat begins to turn color, add onion and green pepper. Saute until meat is well browned. Combine tamales, kidney beans, corn, tomato sauce, noodles, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and meat mixture in large 3-quart casserole. Mix well. Top with cheese. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
