Taco burgers
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- taco sauce - 1 item
- large lettuce leaves - 4 item
- hamburger buns, split or 8 taco shells, heated - 8 item
- shredded American cheese or Cheddar cheese - 1 c
How to make taco burgers:
Cook ground beef until brown. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes and their liquid, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, sugar and garlic salt to the skillet. Stir with a wooden spoon to break up tomatoes. Turn burner to high heat and cook mixture until it boils, stirring a few times. Return heat to low and simmer the meat mixture until thick (about 10 minutes). Stir mixture a few times to keep from sticking and burning.While meat is cooking, rinse lettuce with cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Tear lettuce into bite size pieces.
To serve: Spoon about 1/4 cup of meat mixture onto bun or taco shell. Top with lettuce, cheese and taco sauce and remaining bun.
