Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • evaporated milk - 1/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 3 item
  • cooked mashed sweet potatoes - 2 c
  • 1 stick butter - 1/2 c
  • unbaked pie crust 9-inch - 1 item

How to make sweet potato pie:

Mash butter with hot potatoes. Beat in sugar, eggs, vanilla and milk. Add salt to taste; add nutmeg. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until it won't shake when moved. Do not overcook; it will firm as it cools.
