Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- water - 1/3 c
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- ground ginger - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ketchup - 1/3 c
- hot cooked rice - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, cut into strips - 1 item
- pork tenderloin - 1 lb
- each: soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar and cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- each cans pineapple bits - 2 oz
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Cut tenderloin into 1 1/2 x 1/4-inch strips. Set aside. Drain pineapple, reserving juice in small bowl. To juice, add ketchup, water, soy sauce, pepper and ginger; stir until smooth. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok on high; stir-fry pork and onion for 5 to 7 minutes or until pork is no longer pink. Stir pineapple juice mixture. Add to skillet. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add pineapple and green pepper. Reduce heat; cover and cook 5 minutes. Serve over rice. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Pork.
