Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cold water - 2 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- ground ginger
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- lean ground beef - 3 lb
- peach preserves
- 2 can pineapple chunks
- green pepper bite-size pieces - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Sauce:1 c. peach preserves1/4 c. soy sauce1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger1/4 c. vinegar1/4 c. packed brown sugar1 green pepper (bite-size) pieces1 (No. 2) can pineapple chunks Mix well. Form walnut size balls. Bake in oven on cookie sheet at 350° for 20 minutes or until meatballs are done.Sauce: In saucepan, add preserves, ginger, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and juice from pineapple. Bring to simmer; thicken with cornstarch. Add meatballs and simmer 15 minutes. Add pineapple and peppers; simmer for 5 minutes.
