Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- finely chopped onion - 1/4 c
- can pineapple tidbits - 1 1/4
- small green bell pepper, cut into 1/2-inch pieces - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Combine first 8 ingredients in bowl; mix well. Shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Place in glass 7 x 12-inch baking dish. Microwave, loosely covered, on High for 3 minutes. Rearrange meatballs. Microwave for 5 to 7 minutes longer or until cooked through. Let stand for 3 minutes; drain. Blend brown sugar, vinegar and cornstarch in baking dish. Stir in undrained pineapple and soy sauce. Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Stir mixture. Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened. Stir in meatballs and green peppers. Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes or until green pepper is tender-crisp. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Ground beef.
