Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soft bread crumbs - 1 c
- chili sauce - 2/3 c
- minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- red currant grape jelly - 2/3 c
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Combine first 8 ingredients; form into bite size meatballs. Brown meatballs lightly in oil. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Drain excess fat. Combine chili sauce and jelly. Pour over meatballs. Heat, stirring occasionally until jelly is melted. Simmer 10 to 12 minutes until sauce has thickened. Baste occasionally. Makes 40 appetizers.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Ground beef.
