Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soft bread crumbs - 1 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- chili sauce - 2/3 c
- minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- red currant or grape jelly - 2/3 c
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Combine the first 8 ingredients; form into 40 bite size meatballs, using a full teaspoon for each. Brown meatballs lightly in oil. Cover; simmer for 5 minutes. Drain excess fat. Combine chili sauce and jelly; pour over meatballs. Heat, stirring occasionally, until jelly is melted. Simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, until sauce has thickened.
