Ingredients/Components
- salt - 3 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 3/4
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3 c
- caraway seed - 3 tsp
- white flour - 1 item
- rye flour - 4 6
- anise seed
How to make swedish rye bread:
Boil first 5 ingredients for 5 minutes; cool. Add remaining ingredients and enough white flour to make a dough. Knead well. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and let rise again. Shape into 3 loaves. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake 50 minutes more.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Swedish.
