Swedish rice pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1 qt
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- raisins if desired - 1 item
- dash of cinnamon and nutmeg - 1 item
- Minute rice or 1/2 c
How to make swedish rice pudding:
Boil milk and rice in a double boiler for 1 1/2 hours. Beat egg yolks with sugar, salt and spices. Add to rice mixture. Pour into baking dish and top with meringue (beat egg whites until stiff, add 2 tablespoons sugar and continue to beat).
