  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • dark corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • grated orange peel

How to make swedish ginger cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients. Mix and chill dough.

Roll out on lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch. Cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Yields 8 dozen cookies.
