Strawberry shortcake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 3 Tbsp
• milk - 1/2 c
• butter or margarine, melted - 3 Tbsp
• sliced strawberries - 2 c
• biscuit mix
• envelope Dream Whip whipped topping mix - 1 item

How to make strawberry shortcake:

Combine biscuit mix, 3 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons butter and the milk, mixing with a fork to form a soft dough. Knead dough on a lightly floured board; roll 1/4-inch thick. Cut into 12 (3-inch) rounds. Brush 6 of the rounds with the 2 tablespoons of butter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Top with remaining rounds and bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Cool.

Meanwhile, prepare whipped topping mix as directed on package. Sprinkle strawberries with 1 tablespoon sugar. Separate biscuits, then stack on individual dessert dishes with half the strawberries and half the whipped topping between the biscuits. Put remaining strawberries and topping on top. Makes 6 servings.
