  • graham cracker crumbs approximately 20 crackers
  • finely chopped walnuts optional - 1/4 c
  • ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine, melted 1 stick - 1/2 c
  • Add melted butter and mix thoroughly
  • pkg - 2 oz
  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • almond extract optional - 1/2 tsp
  • sour cream - 3 c
  • Beat until smooth
  • water less if using frozen strawberries - 1/2 c
  • cornstarch - 4 tsp
  • red food coloring to brighten color if desired - 1 item

How to make strawberry glazed cheesecake:

In bowl combine crumbs, walnuts and cinnamon. Add melted butter and mix thoroughly. Press onto the bottom and 1 1/2 to 2 inches up sides of a spring-form pan.Filling:3 eggs2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened1 c. sugar2 tsp. vanilla dash of salt1/2 tsp. almond extract (optional)3 c. sour cream Combine eggs, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat until smooth. Blend in sour cream. Pour into crust. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until set. (Filling will be soft.) Cool; chill thoroughly for 4 to 5 hours.Glaze:2 c. fresh strawberries (may be frozen)1/2 c. water (less if using frozen strawberries)4 tsp. cornstarch1/3 c. sugar red food coloring (to brighten color if desired) Crush 1 cup strawberries. Add water and cook for 2 minutes., Sieve. Mix cornstarch and 1/3 cup sugar. Slowly stir into hot berry mix. Bring to boil, stirring constantly (preferably use whisk brush to stir). Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add color if desired. Cool to room temperature. Halve remaining berries. Arrange atop cheesecake in a design. Pour on glaze. Chill for 2 hours. Serves 10 (large slices).
