  • pkg - 1 oz
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • heavy cream - 1/4 c
  • sifted confectioners sugar - 2 c
  • red food coloring - 1 item
  • green food coloring - 1 item
  • can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
  • cans flaked coconut - 4 1/2
  • ground, blanched almonds - 1 c

How to make strawberry bonbons:

In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, coconut, 1/3 cup gelatin, almond extract and enough red food coloring to tint mixture a strawberry shade. Chill until firm enough to handle.

Form small amounts (about 1/2 tablespoon) into strawberry shapes. Sprinkle remaining gelatin into flat dish; roll each strawberry to coat. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheet; refrigerate.

To make hull, combine sugar, cream and green food coloring. Using pastry bag with open star tip, pipe small amounts atop strawberries.
