Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 2 Tbsp
- finely chopped onion - 1/3 c
- soft bread cubes - 1 c
- large ripe tomatoes - 3 item
- dash of oregano and basil - 1 item
How to make stewed tomatoes:
Remove stem end from each tomato; peel tomatoes and cut into small pieces.Mix tomatoes, onion, green pepper, sugar, salt and pepper. Cover and heat to boiling; reduce heat. Add oregano and basil; simmer until onion and green pepper are tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in bread cubes.
